ABOUT THE ARTS COUNCIL OF CHESTER COUNTY

Celebrating 51 years!

The Arts Council of Chester County was founded in 1973 to encourage an appreciation of the arts, as well as participation in the arts through Arts in Education and Community Arts.

Today, the Arts Council of Chester County offers many different events and classes for the community, along with promoting artists.
We coordinate exhibits and performances with local and regional artists in our Ann D. Marion Gallery, as well as co-sponsor the annual Superintendent’s Art Show, an Arts-in-Education event in which Chester County School District students in K-12 are eligible to participate.

We offer a variety of classes to appeal to a culturally diverse audience.  Previous art classes have included oils, pastels, acrylics, watercolors, and sketching.

Other sessions have included jewelry classes, glass fusion, pottery and pottery painting classes, sweetgrass basket weaving, Youth Art Camps, journaling classes, and more.

The Arts Council holds great cultural events which include the Oyster Roast & Auction Fundraiser, Southern Porch & Garden Party, Greek Night, the Holiday Home Tour, and the Annual Jingle Bell Bazaar.   We also host other cultural programs such as the Hot Southern Nights Concert Series, free Speakers Bureau programs, and free Artist Receptions, along with a variety of other events.
